
The International Center of Protest Research (ICP) was founded in 2006 by Katrhin Fahlenbrach, Martin Klimke, and Joachim Scharloth as a loose affiliation of scholars from a variety of national and disciplinary backgrounds interested in expressions of of protest and dissent.
Emerging from an existing network dedicated to the research on European protest movements after 1945, its goal is to build long-lasting international networks of academic exchange through the organization and sponsorship of conferences, workshops and research initiatives.
At the same time, it seeks offer a central virtual platform for presenting research projects associated with the center's theme.
